At World BEYOND War we make use of all variety of media and communications production and engagement, creating video, audio, text, and graphic media, and interacting with media outlets large and small.
World BEYOND War provides chapters and affiliates with resources, trainings, and organizing support to amplify both online and offline events and campaigns for peace and justice.
We educate both about and for the abolition of war. We engage in formal education as well as every variety of informal and participatory education interwoven in our activism and media work.
Canada’s overseas bases are currently small, especially compared to U.S. bases, but the slide into global militarism can be a slippery one.

On a warm Saturday morning in May, a group of demonstrators gathered in a public square in Asheville, North Carolina, for the kind of protest lawmakers don’t usually foresee when they haggle for a share of the United States’ massive military budget to be spent in their home districts.
That the United States has always been so deeply afflicted with structural and cultural racism that it sometimes goes unnoticed and needs to be addressed is hardly disputable.
The following letter was sent to members of the Senate Armed Services Committee Wednesday, July 21, 2021, ahead of a hearing during which it is expected that a provision to expand the draft to women would be attached to the “must pass” National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
I understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. I commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace.
