Helen Peacock, World Peace: PipeDream or Possibility? Can Rotarians be the Tipping Point?

by Peace Podcast, July 23, 2021

Rtn Helen Peacock BSc MSc is a committed Peace Activist. She is the Founder of Pivot2Peace, a member of the Canada-wide Peace and Justice Network, a Chapter Coordinator for World Beyond War, and Peace Chair for the Rotary Club of Collingwood, SGB.  And she is on a mission to invite Rotarians to be leaders not only in building Positive Peace around the world but also to be leaders in ending war.   A resolution sponsored by three Districts, two in Canada and one in Australia, will go to Council on Resolutions this year asking Rotary International to consider endorsing the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.  Watch this Peace Podcast to hear Helen rebut the automatic “can’t be Political” argument and get inspired to take the following action(s) NOW:

1.     Sign the Japanese Survivors’ Appeal (already signed by 2021-22 Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta)   https://rotarians.peacinstitute.org

2.     Watch the video presentation  World Peace – PipeDream or Possibility, can Rotarians be the Tipping Point? (30min) Peace Video

3.     Request a live presentation by emailing Ann Frisch, Chair, RAGFP Subcommittee on Nuclear Education afrisch09@gmail.com

4.     Download the United Nations Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons Resolution and talk it over with your District Representative. Let him/her know how important you think it is that COR, vote YES so that the Resolution goes forward to RI for consideration.  Download Resolution
