This week’s conversation with Edward Horgan, from February 11, 2021, reflected on the assumption that militaries are the most appropriate peacekeepers. When we think of militaries, we mostly think of war. The fact that militaries are also almost exclusively used as peacekeepers is something we should take time to question. We talk to Ed Horgan, a former Irish/United Nations peacekeeper, about the drawbacks (or possible advantages) of using militaries as peacekeepers and potential alternatives.
