As wars continue in Gaza, Ukraine, and elsewhere, efforts to stop them are up against a powerful military-industrial-media complex in the United States. No matter how much coverage of war comes through mainstream news outlets, the human realities of war are scarcely conveyed. On March 18, 2024, we hosted an online presentation — “Make War Visible… and End It” — with author and activist Norman Solomon, whose book “War Made Invisible: How America Hides the Human Toll of Its Military Machine” was published last year.
The event was cosponsored by California for a World BEYOND War and the RootsAction Education Fund. Norman Solomon is a Co-Founder and the National Director of RootsAction. Norman founded the Institute for Public Accuracy in 1997 and is its executive director. Immersed in anti-war, social justice and environmental movements since the late 1960s, he is the author of a dozen books including “War Made Invisible,” “War Made Easy” and “Made Love, Got War.”
