Earlier this month, Congress passed a resolution to overturn Biden’s 2022 rule permitting ESG investment. Biden vetoed the resolution on March 20th. Across the United States, there are lawsuits mounting and state-level anti-ESG legislation in the works.
ESG investment is also being increasingly scapegoated for economic downturn, with the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank being blamed on its ESG investments.
