This week’s conversation with Suad Aldarra and Yaser Alashqar looks at militarism and human displacement. The human cost of war, persecution and environmental devastation are evident today in the forced displacement of more than 70 million people. The response to this has been militarised borders and a climate of fear and hostility rather than of solidarity and generosity. In this session Suad Aldarra from Syria and Yaser Alashqar from Palestine talk about their experiences and perspectives on forced migration and how a focus on human security can make a real difference.
