“Kevin was always about connecting issues and exposing the truth and building a broader movement, and so I think coming out of fighting the war on drugs and racism and mass incarceration, now we see so clearly how this is linked to militarism and the the United States wages its foreign policy around the world …” – Margaret Flowers
The 18th episode of the World BEYOND War podcast is unlike any we’ve done, and it’s an episode we wish we didn’t have to do. This is a celebration of the life’s work of much-beloved activist and lawyer Kevin Zeese, who died unexpectedly on September 6, 2020. Kevin Zeese was an active member of World BEYOND War’s board, and a regular presence at our events, conferences and protests.
We gathered with David Swanson, Leah Bolger and Pat Elder for a roundtable interview, and were honored to be joined by Dr. Margaret Flowers, Kevin’s wife and partner in activism, with whom he ran Popular Resistance along with many other any activities, for a moving and personal talk about Kevin’s life and motivations and inspirations, and how Margaret will carry on the work they did together.
Please listen, subscribe and give us a good rating to help spread the word about the World BEYOND War podcast, which publishes one new episode a month. Thanks!
