Steps To End War And Build A World Of Peace

By Gabriel Aguirre, May 13, 2024

Within the framework of the activities that World BEYOND War participated in in Cuba, bilateral meetings were organized to continue joining efforts to build a world of peace, solidarity, and social justice.

The first bilateral meeting was with the Cuban Agency of the United Nations, an organization with consultative status before the ECOSOC, and which actively participates in the mechanisms provided by the United Nations for Civil Society. In this meeting we reaffirmed our commitment to continue denouncing the genocide that is occurring against the Palestinian people.

We then held a meeting with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, with the purpose of continuing to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation, to continue denouncing the blockade against Cuba, as well as demanding the closure of the illegal military base in Guantanamo.

Also as part of these meetings we held a meeting with the José Martí International Solidarity Project, with the desire to organize the details for the next VI International Conference for the balance of the world to be held from January 28 to 31, 2025, and in which WBW will be a convening organization for this conference.
