CANSEC 2020 has been officially cancelled! Only after massive public pressure from our coalition, 7,700+ letters sent, and 19 days after a pandemic was declared, CADSI (Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries) cancelled the massive weapons show. Read the WBW press statement here about the victory.

NoWar2020 Goes Virtual; Plans Made for NoWar2021
In light of the victory and continuing concerns about the coronavirus, we will postpone our in-person conference and actions until June 2021. CADSI has already scheduled CANSEC 2021 for June 2021, which gives us over a year to put pressure on CADSI. Accordingly, #NoWar2021 will take place June 1-6, 2021, following a similar schedule as had been planned for this year. View the updated schedule here.

Stay tuned for more info about virtual #NoWar2020 events at the end of May, in place of our in-person conference.

Even though we are in lockdown, that doesn’t mean that the learning stops. During the coronavirus outbreak, we are offering our War Abolition 201 online course on a sliding scale, starting at $25 USD. This course is incredibly engaging and an opportunity to interact with people from around the world while gaining critical skills for the activism that’s possible during this difficult time. This online course starts on April 13 and spans six -weeks. The course is not live — so you can take part whenever works best for you — but optional Zoom calls have been added.
