How did you get involved with anti-war activism and World BEYOND War (WBW)?

If one pays attention, if one cares, how can one not be involved in anti-war activism? Such a fraught question! And so, we’re so grateful to WBW for offering this global template to work exactly on that. World BEYOND War staffer Greta Zarro helped us launch a chapter in Madison, and it’s been a very helpful connection.

What kinds of WBW activities do you work on?

Since the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, we have striven to be a constant presence in this city to lift up the urgent and essential need of a world beyond war. We have done walks, public webinars, pickets, bannerings, and visits to our legislators. We have also tried to ally ourselves with any other group with similar goals in the deep interconnection of injustices.

What’s your top recommendation for someone who wants to get involved with anti-war activism and WBW?

Both anti-war work and the connection with WBW are very helpful in offsetting the sense of hopelessness and despair of our times.

What keeps you inspired to advocate for change?

The belief that another world is not only essential, but also possible and that it starts with each one of us.
