Once again, at this evening‘s informational meeting, we received notice there would be a delay in sailing of the flotilla. Please see the press release for details:
The Freedom Flotilla is ready to sail. All the required paperwork has been submitted to the port authority, and the cargo has been loaded and prepared for the trip to Gaza.
However, today we received word of an administrative roadblock initiated by Israel in an attempt to prevent our departure. Israel is pressuring the Republic of Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from our lead ship—Akdeniz (“Mediterranean”). This triggered a request for an additional inspection, this one by the flag state, that delays our April 26 planned departure.
This is another example of Israel obstructing the delivery of life-saving aid to the people in Gaza who face a deliberately created famine. How many more children will die of malnutrition and dehydration because of this delay and an ongoing siege which must be broken?
This is not the first time that Israel has used these kinds of tactics to stop our ships from sailing. We have overcome them before and are diligently working to overcome this latest attempt. Our vessels have already passed all required inspections and we are confident that the Akdeniz will pass this inspection provided there is no political interference. We expect this to be no more than a few days delay. Israel will not break our resolve to reach the people of Gaza.
But Israel’s ability to influence political decisions on many levels is playing a major part. Organizers and volunteers are not discouraged for a number of reasons, including the fact that this much effort to oppose us means that we are a significant threat to those committing atrocities in Palestine.

The delay also gives us more time to train for our mission and gather more International attention. We see more visitors and press come each day from all over. I am increasingly impressed with the quality of support the flotilla has garnered. This week we heard from several very confident lawyers that everything we are trying to do is legal under international law and efforts to stop us clearly break that law.
This morning I met with the eight medical professionals on our international team and two lead physicians from the Turkish side. They have 25 medical professionals to serve the boat; we will assist as needed. They have procured a small emergency department worth of saving medicines and equipment to protect the volunteers. Everything is first rate.
While we prefer to sail immediately, we are making the best of the time we have. Thank you for your continued support.

You need to get support from bp and offer to help them exploit the Palestinian oil and gas fields. That would get you permission to sail!

Good always prevail over evil,although we are witnessing the
overarching tentacles of evil. We have seen it reach and contaminated once good people who hold position of power and influence in the UK. Money from the sales of arms, corruption and power have subsumed our politicians and every industry in our country , the USA, France &Germany. It has bought the souls, minds any the moral compass of these people, who we rely apon to be our honest brokers for peace and justice .
The Zionist government of Israel wants to recreate an empire of military subjugation in the Middle East. They are using the UK USA France Germany and a few others, to enable them. If / when they achieve this they will dispense of them, as the Zionist belief is separatism and outright empire .
This is the road to disaster for us all . It is an evil war.
The obliteration of the Palestinian people will see the distruction of everything that made us safe and secure.
