En el Día de la Paz, un Capítulo de WBW en La Paz-Bolivia

El 21 de septiembre de cada año se celebra el día internacional de la Paz, en ocasión al llamado mundial a la no violencia y la cesación de fuego, sobre todos los conflictos, y no hay una fecha más pertinente para contribuir de manera significativa en la conmemoración de este día, que a través de la construcción de espacios organizativos por activistas y voluntarios para trabajar en la abolición de la guerra y la construcción de una cultura de Paz.

El lanzamiento del capítulo de la Paz de WBW en Bolivia, se llevó a cabo bajo dos modalidades presencial y virtual, quienes se encontraron de manera personal se reunieron en las instalaciones del Café Nayra Wiri en El Alto de La Paz, y los otros miembros del capítulo, activistas y amigos se conectaron de manera virtual para compartir el desarrollo de este evento, que contó con la presentación de varias conferencias.

La actividad dió inicio con la Conferencia el rol de la juventud en el proceso de construcción de una cultura de Paz en Bolivia, con la exposición del joven activista Daniel Limache, seguidamente por Byron Castillo, Nataly Castro y Kevin Díaz, quienes desde sus enfoques permitieron abordar este importante campo de acción del capítulo.

Seguidamente se realizó la conferencia los actuales desafíos de la Paz en Bolivia, y su rol en la preservación de América Latina como una zona de Paz a cargo de la abogada y activista Silvia Mejías. Posteriormente Lucia Centellas, miembro del Board de World BEYOND War y CEO de la organización Esfuerzo de Mujeres Bolivianas, presentó la conferencia denominada: participación significativa de la sociedad civil a la consolidación y mantenimiento de la paz.

Para cerrar las intervenciones se dio lectura del pronunciamiento del Capítulo a cargo de Jaive Flores. El evento concluyó con la presentación cultura destacada de la artista Paola Balanza, quien a través de su canto deleitó a todos los presentes.

De esta forma quedó conformado el capítulo en Bolivia de World BEYOND War, bajo el gran compromiso de trabajar por abolir todas las guerras, el militarismo y construir una cultura de Paz, para un mundo con mayor justicia social.

On Peace Day, a WBW chapter in La Paz-Bolivia

On September 21 of each year, the International Day of Peace is celebrated, on the occasion of the global call for non-violence and the ceasefire, above all conflicts, and there is no more pertinent date to contribute significantly to the commemoration of this day, than through the construction of organizational spaces by activists and volunteers to work on the abolition of war and the construction of a culture of Peace.

The launch of the WBW Peace chapter in Bolivia was carried out under two in-person and virtual modalities, those who met in person met at the facilities of the Café Nayra Wiri in El Alto de La Paz, and the other members of the chapter, activists and friends connected virtually to share the development of this event, which included the presentation of several conferences.

The activity began with the Conference on the role of youth in the process of building a culture of Peace in Bolivia, with the presentation of the young activist Daniel Limache, followed by Byron Castillo, Nataly Castro and Kevin Díaz, who from their approaches allowed address this important field of action of the chapter.

Next, the conference on the current challenges of Peace in Bolivia, and its role in the preservation of Latin America as a zone of Peace, was held by the lawyer and activist Silvia Mejías. Subsequently, Lucia Centellas, member of the Board of World BEYOND War and CEO of the organization Esfuerzo de Mujeres Bolivianas, presented the conference called: significant participation of civil society in the consolidation and maintenance of peace.

To close the presentations, the Chapter’s statement by Jaive Flores was read. The event concluded with the outstanding cultural presentation of the artist Paola Balanza, who delighted everyone present through her singing.

In this way, the Bolivia chapter of World BEYOND War was formed, under the great commitment to work to abolish all wars, militarism and build a culture of Peace, for a world with greater social justice.
