The global movement to abolish war, World BEYOND War, has recently launched its chapter in Mexico. This event took place on November 28, in Mexico City, where several activists met with the aim of exchanging ideas and initiatives of action to abolish war and militarism.
The activity began around 6:00 p.m. local time in Mexico, the Native Space was a place for all those interested in being part of this great action platform to meet. Some guests from other organizations were also present, who expressed their solidarity. and support the creation of this organizational tool to end all wars.
The event began with words of welcome and opening by the chapter coordinator Roberto Rivera, later the video was shared with the greeting of executive director David Swanson, the event continued with the presentation of the organization and the central aspects of WBW’s work in the world by Gabriel Aguirre, organizer for Latin America, later the activists Eduardo Azael, who spoke about the importance and strategic actions of this chapter in Mexico, Marcella Villalobos, who described the current situation of militarism in Mexico, and Estefania Vegas, a Palestinian solidarity activist, who is in the West Bank and who detailed the current situation in the country.
With the launch of this chapter, the movement against war, militarism, arms and for a culture of peace in Mexico, already has a space to contribute to this task that is an urgency today, leaving it for later could mean that it does not exist one tomorrow, we must stop the war now.
Un capítulo en México de WBW para abolir la guerra

El movimiento global para abolir la guerra, World BEYOND War, ha lanzado recientemente su capítulo en México, este evento tuvo lugar el pasado 28 de noviembre, en la ciudad de México, donde se reunieron varios activistas con el objetivo de intercambiar ideas e iniciativas de acción para abolir la guerra y el militarismo.
La actividad inició cerca de las 18:00 hora local de México, el Espacio Nativo, fue lugar para que se reunieran todos los interesados en formar parte de esta gran plataforma de acción, también estuvieron presente algunos invitados de otras organizaciones, quienes expresaron su solidaridad y apoyo a la creación de esta herramienta organizativa para poner fin a todas las guerras.
El evento inició con palabras de bienvenida y apertura, por parte del coordinador del capítulo Roberto Rivera, posteriormente se compartió el video con el saludo del director ejecutivo David Swanson, el evento continuó con la presentación de la organización y los aspectos centrales del trabajo de WBW en el mundo por parte de Gabriel Aguirre, organizador para América Latina, posteriormente los activistas Eduardo Azael, quien habló sobre la importancia y las acciones estratégicas de este capítulo en México, Marcella Villalobos, quien describió la actual situación del militarismo en México, y Estefania Vegas, activista de la solidaridad con Palestina, quien está en Cisjordania y que detalló la actual situación en el país.
Con el lanzamiento de este capítulo el movimiento contra la guerra, el militarismo, el armamentismo y por una cultura de paz en México, ya tiene un espacio para contribuir en esta tarea que es una urgencia de hoy, dejarla para después podría significar que no exista un mañana, la guerra debemos pararla ahora.
