El capítulo de WBW en Chile, ubicado en la Biorregión Aconcagua, plantó un Polo de la Paz el 15 de abril, aniversario del Pacto Roerich de 1935, que establece la importancia de defender el patrimonio sagrado y cultural de la humanidad, por encima de las actividades militares.
La iniciativa de plantar el Polo de la Paz se realizó en el marco de la conmemoración del Día de la Bandera de la Paz. Esta acción se une a más de 300 comunidades alrededor del mundo que han plantado postes de paz con el mensaje “Que la paz prevalezca en la tierra”.
La actividad contó con el apoyo de la Caravana por la Paz. Durante el evento se interpretaron cantos, bailes y oraciones tradicionales como muestra de respeto a la Tierra y en defensa de la Paz.
En otras iniciativas, actualmente el capítulo World BEYOND War de la Biorregión del Aconcagua participa en alianza con la Universidad de Valparaíso, en el marco del programa que impulsa Naciones Unidas, sobre participación e incidencia política para las comunidades organizadas en este nodo bioregional.
World BEYOND War Bioregion Aconcagua Chapter Plants a Peace Pole
The WBW chapter in Chile, located in the Aconcagua Bioregion, planted a Peace Pole on April 15, the anniversary of the 1935 Roerich Pact, which states the importance of defending humanity’s sacred and cultural heritage, above military activities.
The initiative of planting the Peace Pole was carried out in the framework of the commemoration of the Peace Flag Day. This action joins with more than 300 communities around the world that have planted peace poles with the message “May Peace Prevail On Earth.”
The activity was supported by the Caravan for Peace. During the event, traditional songs, dances and prayers were performed as a sign of respect for the Earth and in defense of Peace.
Currently the World BEYOND War chapter of the Bioregion of Aconcagua participates in partnerships with the University of Valparaiso, in the framework of the program promoted by the United Nations, on political participation and advocacy for the communities organized in this bioregional node.
