About Our Chapter

The International Peace Factory Wanfried is located at the former border between the eastern and western part of Germany – today in the middle of the country. After inheriting an old unused factory building, an enthusiastic peace activist dedicated that place to the peace movement. Now there’s a place for group meetings, peace education (including a peace-related library), or just enjoying the quiet little town of Wanfried with its beautiful environment and the special places of the former border nearby.
From here we organize seminars, webinars and peace activities including local actions as well as international networking. We all believe that a peaceful world is possible and we think that it needs a movement by all people around the world to reach that goal.

Our Campaigns
Over the past year, the chapter has continued renovations on the International Peace Factory in Wanfried, which will serve as a physical space for hosting peace conferences, workshops, and educational camps and housing peace activists. Additionally, the chapter has hosted many webinars, with particular focus on the conflicts in the Middle East. The chapter’s newest project, “Fix Our Countries,” brings together people from different countries to report on specific political, educational, and economic problems that prevent stable peace in their countries. By reporting and discussing possible solutions, the campaign fosters international solidarity and innovative thinking that can help solve problems across countries.
