Top 10 Victories and Highlights from 2021
People from 33 countries attended our online annual conference #NoWar2021. It’s not too late to watch all the videos here. We also hosted our first annual film festival; watch for the next one in 2022!
In 2021 WBW added new chapters in Afghanistan, Chile, India, Italy, and Canada (in Canada: Steinbach and Montréal). Look into adding one where you are!
In 2021 WBW supported local efforts against militarism in places that included Montenegro, Okinawa, West Papua, and Wet’suwet’en Territory.
Our petition, events, and outreach efforts educated huge numbers of people about the contribution of militarism to climate collapse.

In 2021, we created a Youth Network, and for the first time we created along with Rotary Action Group for Peace a Peace Education and Action for Impact course for youth around the world.
After months of demand by WBW and very few others, U.S. President Joe Biden finally lifted sanctions on the International Criminal Court.
In 2021, our divestment campaigns progressed in many localities, including winning a victory in the city of Burlington, Vermont, U.S.
In 2021, our chapters took part in numerous nonviolent actions, one of the most dramatic of which was the blocking in Canada of weapons shipments headed to Saudi Arabia for the war on Yemen.
