Greater Portland for a World BEYOND War

The Greater Portland chapter in Oregon kicked off on November 16, 2018, with 25 people in attendance. Long-time peace activist Michael Ellick welcomed everyone to the Peace House in Portland where the meeting was held. Speakers included Native American peace activists Randy and Edith Woodley, Dan Shea of Veterans for Peace, and a current Navy Chaplain, plus a spoken word performance by Young Woodley (video here).

The chapter’s central focus is #iobject, a national campaign to educate and allow public demonstration for conscientious objectors.

Next meeting is December 16, 2018 at the Peace House in Portland at 3:00pm. For more information, contact Michael at mellick23@yahoo.com or Randy at eloheh@gmail.com.
