74% of Canadians support (55%) or somewhat support (19%) Canada signing and ratifying the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons that became international law in January of 2021.
This weekend, over 100 concerned Canadians are holding a Fast Against Fighter Jets to call on the federal government to cancel its $19-billion competition for 88 new fighter jets.
This weekend 100 people across Canada will be participating in the No Fighter Jet Coalition’s fast and vigils to oppose Canada’s planned purchase of 88 new fighter jets.

On March 29, 2021, White Rock City Council approved a resolution to join the ICAN cities appeal and urge the federal government of Canada to support the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).
A diverse group of more than 40 feminist representatives from academia and civil society published an open letter on 29 March calling on the Canadian Task Force on Women in the Economy to demand the Trudeau government halt its arms exports to Saudi Arabia and increase humanitarian assistance to Yemen.
