About Our Chapter
The South Sudan security situation is becoming relatively calm. But there are recurrent reports of violence often triggered by tribal armed youth groups. These kinds of security threats have disrupted the peaceful cohesion of the communities. However, the government and local and international partners put together measures to help address these issues and bring communities back to peaceful cohesion.
The South Sudan chapter of World BEYOND War focuses on actions like:
• Peace conferences with church leaders, government representatives, communities’ leaders, and representatives of organizations;
• Peace debates at the primary, secondary, and community levels;
• Engagement of traditional authority and young people in the South Sudan peace agreement, especially in the constitution-making and election processes.
• Lobbying with the stakeholders on the Women, Peace and Security and Youth, Peace and Security agendas.
So far, the chapter members have managed to engage young people and women on a “Know Your Rights” campaign. This campaign intends to educate communities on their right to peace building and conflict resolution.

As a child, I loved dystopias. I was fascinated by the way things suddenly changed in unexpected ways. I loved observing the heroism of the characters. #WorldBEYONDWar
