About our Chapter / Notre chapitre
The Senegalese chapter of WBW exists in order to support peace activists in all regions of Senegal. “People power” as a core element for change and establishment of a world led by peace rather than war and violence is the pillar of our actions and activities. We intend to create links between existing organizations, isolated activists and civil societies entities in order to strengthen a dialogue which exists already but lacks amplification and visibility. A special place will be made at Senegalese for a World BEYOND War for women and youth whose voices need to be heard since these groups represent a major and active part of the Senegalese population.
Le chapitre sénégalais de WBW existe afin de soutenir les activistes de la paix dans toutes les régions du Sénégal. Le “pouvoir du peuple” en tant qu’élément central du changement et de l’établissement d’un monde dirigé par la paix plutôt que par la guerre et la violence est le pilier de nos actions et de nos activités. Nous avons l’intention de créer des liens entre les organisations existantes, les activistes isolés et les entités de la société civile afin de renforcer un dialogue qui existe déjà mais qui a toujours besoin de plus d’amplification et de visibilité. Une place particulière sera faite chez Sénégal pour un Monde AU-DELÀ de la guerre aux femmes et aux jeunes dont les voix doivent être entendues car ces groupes représentent une partie importante et active de la population sénégalaise.

HANDS OFF SOUDAN / HANDS OFF SUDAN
Depuis le 15 avril 2023, les soudanais subissent l’horreur en raison de l’affrontement de deux dirigeants qui se disputent le pouvoir : le général Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, et le général Mohamed Hamdane Dagalo. Derrière ce narratif qui est très souvent présenté dans les médias occidentaux d’une rivalité entre deux dirigeants, se cachent d’autres conflits, beaucoup plus complexes ceux-ci, et impliquant une constellation d’acteurs internationaux. Since April 15, 2023, the Sudanese people have been suffering the horror of two leaders vying for power: General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and General Mohamed Hamdane Dagalo. Behind this narrative, often presented in the Western media, of a rivalry between two leaders, lie another, much more complex conflicts involving a constellation of international players. RETIREZ VOS TROUPES DE DJIBOUTI ! / GET YOUR TROOPS OUT OF DJIBOUTI!
Cette campagne a pour objectif de faire fermer les nombreuses bases militaires qui se trouvent sur le territoire de Djibouti. Les bases militaires augmentent les tensions, leur présence est une provocation. Elles facilitent la guerre, encouragent le militarisme et le terrorisme, mettent en danger les pays hôtes et soutiennent les dictatures, ainsi que les régimes répressifs et anti-démocratiques, pour ne mentionner que cela. Signez la pétition ici pour que ferment les bases militaires qui se trouvent à Djibouti !
The aim of this campaign is to close down the many military bases on the territory of Djibouti. Military bases increase tensions, their presence is a provocation. They facilitate war, encourage militarism and terrorism, endanger host countries, and support dictatorships, as well as repressive and anti-democratic regimes, to name a few.
