Send this message to your local, state or provincial, and national government officials:
The world has had enough of war, and that includes me. Government officials everywhere are being asked to join with the people of the world in signing a declaration of peace at http://WorldBeyondWar.org It reads:
“I understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. I commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace.”
The steps that will take us from a world full of war to a world of peace are many, but I want to be represented by people who are committed to moving in that direction. Please sign the declaration of peace at http://WorldBeyondWar.org
Thank you.

Please get OUR priorities straight !
this is probably a horrible example, but the two revolutions of Russia 1900’s was a horrible time, but it broke the grip of the Czar. It may come to that here if we don’t step up and open our eyes.
My time recently has been taken up with responding to theCOMMISSION ON MILITARY, NATIONAL AND PUBLIC SERVICE. Their visit to Chicago Illinois on June 28,2018 was in the first cluster of visits to seek “comments on any aspect of the Commissions mission…including…Is a military draft or draft contingency still a necessary component of US security.” I provided verbal comment as well as written comment to the commission. This has been a minimally publicized event….as visits continue I hope there will be a way to forward alerts. I have contacted Veterans for Peace and moving the message through Quaker Friends.. I am urging other groups to provide comments. The Women’s March on the Pentagon ( scheduled for Oct 20/21 ) has declared opposition to the draft …which for the first time contemplates including women. This Commission was the act of Mc Cain and Obama…towards the end of his second term. Visit the website. Inspire2serve.gov
To end War ‘we the American people’ will first have to end this Disguised Global Capitalist EMPIRE!
As I have commented on the NY “Times” in various forms several times:
The “gun problem” (and mass murder problem) will not be solved until the NRA and Congressional cover-up of the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act” (which gives gun corporations, and other corporations, such as the 1000x more profitable and powerful, Defense Contractors, global weapon-markers of wars, and as G.B. Shaw called them, “Merchants of Death”) is revealed by “following the money” and following the marketing strategy deceit in the use of this multi-purpose marketing-message, which serves the deadly ‘propaganda triangle’ of the nearly bankrupt domestic small-arms makers (Remington), the lying NRA, and most importantly the huuuuge global weapons “Merchants of Death” —- all of whom depend on the same violence inducing sleazy ‘sales pitch’ of: “The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a (bigger) gun”.
Follow the money and the power of this damn Disguised Global (crony and killing) Capitalist EMPIRE — which makes profits by hiding ‘Negative externalies costs’ including the killing of American school children, Yemeni babies, our only environment, and anyone who stands in the way of making monstrous profits through “whatever it takes”.
Otherwise, as the fictional ‘truth telling’ (D CA) Senator Bulworth (Warren Beatty) said in his 1998 revolutionarily true film, regarding both Vichy parties, “You’re never going to get away from guys like me” — which is eerily prescient of our current faux-Emperor Trumpius.
