About Our Chapter
The Isingiro Nakivale chapter of World BEYOND War is a peace initiative rooted in the Nakivale refugee settlement. The Nakivale refugee settlement is located in the Isingiro district in western Uganda, near the Tanzanian border, approximately 200 kilometers from Kampala. Our chapter is formed by a diverse group of volunteers committed to ending war and promoting peaceful coexistence including in Africa and globally. With a focus on empowering refugee youth and children through education, talent development and nonviolent activism, the chapter works to reduce illiteracy, support vocational training and foster cultural unity through activities like dance and sports. In a context marked by diversity and challenges, the Isingiro Nakivale chapter envisions a world where peace prevails, differences are embraced, and every child can grow up free to laugh, learn, and thrive.
