Since April 2023, the Sudanese people have been suffering the horror of two leaders vying for power: General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and General Mohamed Hamdane Dagalo. The war in Sudan has resulted in the devastating loss of more than 150,000 civilian lives and the displacement of more than 12 million people. The country is the scene of human rights violations, with widespread abuses particularly affecting civilians caught up in the clashes.
Behind this narrative, so often presented in the Western media, of a rivalry between two leaders, lie other, far more complex conflicts, involving a constellation of international players who are supporting the war with weapons and troops.

This webinar on December 11, 2025, aimed at updating on the progress of the campaign, discussing the ongoing situation in Sudan, and outlining the next steps, including the delivery of petitions and the way forward in calling for an end to the war. The speakers also explored the constructive approaches worth considering in the context of the conflict and the initiatives underway to end the war in Sudan.
The aim of this webinar on September 26, 2024 was to raise awareness and educate the public about the scale and severity of the war in Sudan. By offering an in-depth look at the causes, impacts, and dynamics of the Sudanese conflict, we hope that a better understanding of this situation will encourage more concerted and effective global action at all levels, from individuals to national governments and global organizations. First part: a brief description of the conflict. Second part: the testimony of Zeirra, a Sudanese influential woman who has just left Sudan. Third part: questions and exchanges with the audience.
How did war in Sudan come to be? The conference held on November 7, 2024 at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, organized by the Senegal chapter of World BEYOND War, provides some answers and possible solutions. Professor Alassane Beye, lecturer at the UFR SJP and co-director of the Master’s in Peace and Security at the UGB, accompanied by Hamad Gamal, Sudanese activist exiled in France and co-founder of Sudfa-Média, spoke about the course of events in Sudan in recent years.
