Côte d’Ivoire Chapter

About Our Chapter / Notre Chapitre

Côte d’Ivoire has a history of political violence. After the harrowing presidential and municipal elections of 2021, the country has remained marked by tensions and divisions. As the November 2025 presidential election approaches, conflicts and clashes are being felt at the highest levels of the state, within opposition parties and among the population.

As Côte d’Ivoire prepares for the elections in 2025, the World BEYOND War chapter has started an awareness campaign to prevent violence and promote a peaceful electoral process. The aim of the campaign is to inform women about the devastating effects of war, particularly on families and children; to encourage them to play an active role in preventing violence by educating their children and promoting peace and unity; and to equip them with tools and strategies to manage conflict and defuse tensions within their communities.

The chapters areas of interest are: violence prevention, peace education, promotion of positive actions towards others and the planet, promotion of mutual aid, solidarity and environmental protection for sustainable development.
