World BEYOND War’s Executive Director David Swanson and Latin America Organizer Gabriel Aguirre will join about 20 friends and allies, mostly from the United States, including World BEYOND War Advisory Board Members Medea Benjamin and Ann Wright, on a peace visit to Venezuela on February 20-24.
While there, they will participate in activities including:
- a boat tour with fishermen,
- a burial of the Monroe Doctrine,
- a rally on the coast against military bases (part of the Global Days of Action to #CloseBases)
- a visit to a site of recent bombing,
- meetings with activists and commune members, and
- other cultural exchange activities.
