Meeting Held Between Senegal and Gambia chapters of World BEYOND War

During the recent regional conference in Dakar to mark the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), I had the pleasure of meeting Omar Mboob, National Coordinator of the World BEYOND War chapter in The Gambia. This opportunity allowed us to have a fraternal and engaged exchange, fueled by sincere discussions about our respective realities, our methods of mobilization, and the common challenges we face in our quest for a world without war.

As coordinator of the Senegalese chapter, I was particularly inspired by our shared vision and our common desire to build strong bridges between our two countries in our field of action. We laid the foundations for active collaboration between WBW Senegal and WBW Gambia, notably through the upcoming organization of a joint event on Senegalese territory.

This dialogue fully embodies World BEYOND War’s mission: to unite forces across borders to promote peace, nonviolence, and social justice. Together, we are the voice of an African youth determined to make disarmament a priority and regional solidarity a lever for sustainable transformation. The peaceful future we want to build will be achieved through unity. And our commitment to a world without war knows no borders.

Rencontre entre les Chapitres World BEYOND War du Sénégal et de Gambie

À l’occasion de la récente conférence régionale à Dakar pour marquer le 50e anniversaire de la Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO), j’ai eu le plaisir de rencontrer Omar Mboob, Coordinateur national du chapitre de World BEYOND War en Gambie. Cette opportunité nous a permis d’avoir un échange fraternel et engagé, nourri par des discussions sincères autour de nos réalités respectives, nos méthodes de mobilisation et les défis communs que nous affrontons dans notre quête d’un monde sans guerre.

En tant que coordinatrice du chapitre sénégalais, j’ai été particulièrement inspirée par notre convergence de visions et notre volonté partagée de bâtir des ponts solides entre nos deux pays, dans notre domaine d’action. Nous avons posé les premières bases d’une collaboration active entre WBW Sénégal et WBW Gambie, notamment à travers l’organisation prochaine d’un événement conjoint sur le territoire sénégalais.

Ce dialogue incarne pleinement la mission de World BEYOND War : unir les forces au-delà des frontières pour promouvoir la paix, la non-violence et la justice sociale. Ensemble, nous portons la voix d’une jeunesse africaine déterminée à faire du désarmement une priorité, et de la solidarité régionale un levier de transformation durable. L’avenir paisible que nous voulons construire se fera dans l’unité. Et notre engagement pour un monde sans guerre ne connaît pas de frontières.
