Geoff Holland is Convenor of World Peace Now ॐ (since 2014) and key organizer for the World Peace Summit 2025. Geoff has been active in the peace movement since living in Berkeley, California in the early 1980s where he also studied Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies. Later Geoff worked at People for Nuclear Disarmament (PND), Sydney, in the late 1980s. He is co-author of ‘How to Stop the Bomb – A Peace Action Handbook.’ He has also been active in the environmental movement including Extinction Rebellion and was involved in holding up coal trains, blockading banks, shopping centre die-ins, and other direct action (arrested three times and jailed twice but exonerated on each occasion). Geoff has been helping to raise awareness about the impact of militarism on the Climate Catastrophe. He participated in the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and also Rio+20 in 2012. He ran as a candidate for the Queensland Greens in 1992. He has a degree in Communications (journalism and political science) and a Masters degree in Science and Technology Policy with a background in global futures studies. He currently resides in Gimuy-Cairns, Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
