ACERCA DE NUESTRO CAPÍTULO / About Our Chapter

The Cali chapter of World BEYOND War is emerging as a citizen-led and community-based platform focused on demilitarization, peace education, and nonviolent action in southwestern Colombia. Its approach stems from the direct experience of victims of the armed conflict and a conception of positive peace, understood not only as a ceasefire but also as the effective guarantee of human rights and social dignity. It also integrates, across all its activities, the fight against racism, labor justice, a gender perspective, and an understanding of the migration and displacement phenomena affecting the city and the region.

In its operational deployment, the chapter bases its work on three essential lines: establishing a strong local presence to understand the realities of the communities, developing educational and training processes in citizenship and a culture of peace, and actively engaging with the existing organizational network in Cali. In this way, the space seeks to function as a two-way bridge that not only strengthens local struggles by working hand in hand with social movements, unions and youth collectives, but also connects these neighborhood experiences with global and Global South solidarity networks.
