The annual Toronto Airshow is back to glorify militarism, war, and to promote fighter jets like those being used to massacre people across the world, including in Gaza, at this very moment.

The Toronto Star published an op-ed titled Down With the Canadian International Air Show. An excerpt:
“Behind the funnel cakes and popsicles of the CNE lies a hidden motivation for the show: military recruitment. By showcasing the ‘skills’ of the very same CF-18 fighter jets that have carried out 1,598 bombing missions around the world over the past 30 years, the air show makes entertainment from these devastating machines of warfare.”
City News published an article called Protesters call for Toronto’s annual Air Show to be cancelled. It included:
“‘The protest will condemn the air show’s efforts to sanitize the devastating impacts of war planes such as CF-18s and Lockheed Martin’s F22 Raptors whose sole purpose is warfare and annihilation,’ organizers for the group World BEYOND War said in a statement.”
The protest and Stop the Air Show campaign were also covered by the Toronto Star, Yahoo Canada, Radio Canada, Now Toronto, and Global Evening News.
World BEYOND War made use of not just corporate media and social media, but also postering:
On the second day of the air show Toronto World BEYOND War and allies dropped hundreds of flyers off of rides across the CNE fair grounds.
