WBW News & Action: Iran War Costs Everyone

If this was forwarded to you, sign up for future news here.

Dear Friend,

Wars have many costs. People are going hungry far from Iran because of the war there. Some costs gain attention, such as the price of the fossil fuels that are so damaging to our world even apart from the wars waged over them. Keep reading for something you can do to open people’s minds to all the many costs of wars.

Palestinians are being criminally deprived of food, water, and medicine. Those attempting to come to their aid should be assisted, not attacked.

How to Help End War at a Gas Station or Grocery Store

Here’s something you can do in this teachable moment. Go to a gas station or market with soaring prices. Print out and bring these three pages. Or print the first page as a big poster and the next two double-sided on one sheet. Hand them out and talk to people. Invite media. Or print the first two pages double-sided on a single sheet and the third one as a sticker that can be stuck to appropriate surfaces.

Of course the fossil fuels themselves are so damaging to our world, and the minimally risen prices of them constitute tragically a positive side effect of the war. Unfortunately, most governments do not seize the occasion to liberate their kingdoms from fossil fuels, but instead increase the subsidies for them, in turn fuelling even more aggressive methods of theft (AKA extraction, ultimately NOT “production”) of them, such as oil sand, fr**king, deep sea platforms, shale oil etc. Sweden is one of the worst examples that began with large-scale pumping of tax bucks into fossil fuels in 2022 after the Ukraina War (powered by USA) began, and continues doing so now during the Iran War (powered by USA too). When you run out of fossil one day, just come to Sweden, here “gas” is almost free on every addictive fossil fuel station.
