From June 9 to 12, the X Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences was held in Bogota, Colombia. WBW participated in several panels through Loreta Telleria, member of the WBW board.
Loreta Telera exposed the threats of increasing militarization in Latin America, pointing out that the main reason is related to the dispute of geopolitical interests of the United States in its confrontation with China.
She also mentioned that the Monroe Doctrine continues to be the formula used by the United States to relate with Latin American countries, and that is why they continue to establish new military bases in the continent.Together with other speakers participating in the different panels, it was made clear that Latin America is living in a context of war and profound violence that has different expressions.
Also present at the X CLACSO were Sean Conner, executive director of IPB, Gabriel Aguirre, WBW Latin America organizer and members of the WBW Bogota chapter, who attended during the different days of the event.

Del 9 al 12 de junio se celebró en Bogotá, Colombia, la X Conferencia Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Ciencias Sociales. La MMB participó en varios paneles a través de Loreta Telleria, miembro de la junta directiva de la MMB.
Loreta Telera, expuso las amenazas de la creciente militarización en América Latina, señalando que la principal razón está relacionada con la disputa de intereses geopolíticos de Estados Unidos en su confrontación con China.
También mencionó que la Doctrina Monroe sigue siendo la fórmula utilizada por Estados Unidos para relacionarse con los países latinoamericanos, y por eso continúan estableciendo nuevas bases militares en el continente.Junto a otros ponentes que participaron en los diferentes paneles, quedó claro que América Latina vive en un contexto de guerra y violencia profunda que tiene diferentes expresiones.
También estuvieron presentes en el X CLACSO Sean Conner, director ejecutivo del IPB, Gabriel Aguirre, organizador de WBW Latinoamérica y miembros del capítulo Bogotá de WBW, quienes asistieron durante los diferentes días del evento.
