We need a real peace deal not a surrender to Russia.
This is not the first time that Schelianko has been given a platform to present his warped analysis which is shot through with anti-Russian talking points, which ignores the sequence of events that brought about a conflict which was entirely provoked by the West. The second speaker, Tom, however, presented a more honest account but what was entirely missing from both presentations was the issue of Neo Nazi influence in Ukraine and Zelensky’s relationship with the Zionist entity in the USA and Israel.
There are only two possible outcomes here (1) that Russia will continue with the Special Military Operation until its objectives have been met, these being in accordance with the original agreement signed in Minsk, Belarus, which had been undermined by the deceit of the “collective West” or (2) that the European leadership will persist on its reckless course to ‘weaken and destroy’ Russia, a course of action that will not only see the destruction of Ukraine, but probably an end to life on this planet.
Any sane person would prefer the first option, which would bring about a situation where all that would remain of Ukraine would be a few oblasts west of the Dnieper River, the rest of Ukraine having been absorbed into its historic homeland. Both Ukraine and Israel share one thing in common, they should never have been created in the first place.
I would imagine that I am not alone in expressing my disappointment in not being party to the question and answer session that followed these presentations. It would have been very interesting to hear the views of those who observed it.
Greetings from Ireland. The talks were interesting but no mention of history – and all conflicts have a historical context! Countries in Eastern Europe joined NATO because they fear Russia after centuries of oppression, during which their rights to self-determination were denied. Ireland experienced famine in the 1840’s due to the economic policies of England, and Ukraine experienced famine in the 1930’s due to the economic policies of Russia. People don’t forget starvation that easily!
Colonialism often results in disputed territories – for example, Northern Ireland. The optimum result is, of course, reconciliation. This happened in Northern Ireland but it took 30 years.
Tom says Ukraine will probably have to cede territory to achieve some sort of peace deal. Moscow Govt considers Ukraine to be ‘part of Russia’, just as London Govt considered Ireland to be ‘part of the United Kingdom’ in the 1920’s. Sadly, the stronger almost always wins. In 1921 Ireland had to cede territory to the UK who promised ‘terrible war’ if we didn’t. As late as 2020, after Brexit, the London Govt tried to roll Ireland over – economically – but this time Ireland had a stronger entity (the EU) on its side.
