Video: Human Rights in Yemen and Canada’s Role

By Stefan Christoff, March 4, 2021

An important exchange yesterday for the Human rights in Yemen | Les droits humains au Yémen event. Thank you to all the participants in this effort to raise awareness around the injustices taking place in Yemen today within the context of the ongoing bombing campaign on the part of the government of Saudi Arabia.

In this exchange we hear from Atiaf Alwazir, co-founder of #SupportYemen speaking specifically about the stories of the Yemeni people being impacted by this war, particularly women.

Also we hear from Catherine Pappas, the current interim director at Alternatives, speaking about the efforts taking place to support specific alternative media projects in Yemen and the surrounding region led by women journalists.

Finally we hear from Rachel Small, the campaigner at World BEYOND War speaking on the importance of campaigning against Canadian arms shipments to the government of Saudi Arabia within the context of the ongoing war on Yemen.

Thank you to all the participants in this panel discussion which I hosted through Free City Radio.

Thank you Myriam Cloutier and Feroz Mehdi for the technical support also.
