It is very difficult to understand what is currently happening at the level of Western elites. In an attempt to understand what is happening, we invited a veteran of the peace movement to answer some essential questions about the processes occurring within European elites in particular. Wolfgang Lieberknecht is a pacifist with extensive activist experience. He is the coordinator of the Peace Factory organization in Wanfried, Germany, and the founder of the pacifist music group Black and White. Decades of pacifist activism recommend him as a mature voice capable of offering both a historical perspective on events and on the evolution of peace as a crucial progressive concern.
