Over 4,000 people have signed the following statement created by U.S. group RootsAction Education Fund and global organization World BEYOND War.
To The People of Albania
Your government, like most of our governments, is corrupt and secretive. Your government, like most of our governments, is giving away public land, spaces, and resources to the already overly wealthy — including the shameless daughter and son-in-law of U.S. President Trump who have bragged about their plans to turn protected Albanian land and public beaches into a massive, private, luxury resort. You, unlike most of us, are doing something about it. You are organizing and rallying and pressuring your government, not on behalf of one political party or group of wealthy elites, but on behalf of the general population. You inspire us, and we want you to know that we support your efforts and will do everything we can to assist in your success, which we hope will be contagious.

The spark for their movement was one corrupt Trump family project. In the United States we have those by the dozens and have barely done in a single day what Albanians do every day. That’s why people around the world are inspired by Albania and want to see its nonviolent revolution spread.
