Kudos to Mike Ferner and other Veterans for Peace people who fasted for peace in Gaza. Important to do it in solidarity with other fasters as he mentioned. I appreciate his forthrightness and courage.
I heard Naomi Klein on Insta today saying that billionaires like Bezos, Musk, Gates, Trumpf, are holding the reins of power and the reason that they seem to be doing all they can to hasten the demise of life on earth is that they have already given up and are busy working on a doomsday scenario. They live in an alternate reality in which it is acceptable to accelerate climate change because they expect Earth to become uninhabitable and they plan to colonize Mars just as they colonized indigenous land. Actions of our politicians these days seem so surreal it is as though we are actors in the film Don’t look up.
