Talk Nation Radio: Ken Mayers and Tarak Kauff on Protesting War in Ireland

Ken Mayers and Tarak Kauff are out on bail and forbidden to leave Ireland. They attempted to inspect a U.S. plane for weapons in supposedly neutral Ireland. They will be taking part in #NoWar2019.

Ken Mayers was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island prior to attending Princeton University. Upon graduation in 1958 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp, eventually rising to the rank of major. He has been a peace and justice activist ever since. He has served six years on the Veterans For Peace Board of Directors, five of them as national treasurer.

Tarak Kauff was a U..S. Army paratrooper from 1959 – 1962. He is a member of Veterans For Peace, the managing editor of Peace in Our Times, VFP’s quarterly newspaper, and was a member of the VFP National Board of Directors for six years. He has organized and led delegations of veterans to Okinawa; Jeju Island, South Korea; Palestine; Ferguson, Missouri; Standing Rock; and Ireland.

    Please include the Hawaiian revolution.

  2. Donald Willms says:

Thanks for the podcast and the incredible work your doing! I came across this article about Moldova negotiating the removal of Russian troops from its territory as it violates Moldova’s neutrality.
If the US sticks it’s nose in it could provide an interesting confrontation in regards to its activities at Shannon.

  3. David,

Today at the VFP gathering in London I was given one of your cards as we discussed our friends that have been detained for exposing the breach of neutrality.
I have to say thanks for what you are doing for the peace movement, keep up the great work!
