Tune in to this campaign briefing with updates on recent wins, breaking news about Scotiabank’s latest investments in Elbit, and the announcement of a new phase of divestment action.
Speakers include:
- Tarek Loubani, Palestinian-Canadian emergency physician and director of Glia, a medical solidarity organization operating in Gaza
- Michael Deforge, cartoonist, illustrator, author and organizer with No Arms in the Arts and Writers Against the War on Gaza
- Rachel Small, Organizer with World BEYOND War Canada, founding member of Jews Say No to Genocide
- Dov Baum, director of Action Center for Corporate Accountability, co-founder of Who Profits from the Occupation
As a major shareholder in Elbit Systems, Israel’s biggest arms company, Scotiabank directly funds the genocide of Palestinians.
Through direct action, withdrawals of labour, and organizing, Scotiabank has heard and felt the pressure to divest for over a year! For Artists and cultural workers, mobilizing around Scotiabank’s stake in Elbit Systems has proved that our power lies not only in what we create, but in the collective power we exercise towards Palestinian liberation.
We won’t stop until we see a full divestment from Elbit Systems. We won’t rest until we see a free Palestine.
