We're pleased to invite you to the webinar "Nukes Outlawed: The Future
Without Nuclear Weapons" on Jan. 17, 2021 celebrating the entry into
force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).
Following its 50th ratification in October 2020, the TPNW will come into force on Jan. 22, 2021. That means nuclear weapons are now illegal under international law!
However, many still do not know that this treaty exists or what specifically it does. That’s why we decided to host a short, fun, and informative webinar to share what this landmark achievement means for the world.
And we’ll have a special guest: Daniel Högsta, campaign coordinator for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Together with nuclear victims, activists, and diplomats around the world, ICAN was a major force behind the creation of the TPNW — and it was awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work.
Please see below, as well as the attached flyer, for more information.
