The Coordinator of Montreal for a World BEYOND War, Cymry Gomery, explains why she will be participating:

“Global March to Gaza (MTG) is a spontaneous, grassroots people’s action in response to the fact that Israel is preventing trucks with food, medicine, fuel and water from entering Gaza for 75 days now. The Palestinians in Gaza are under siege in what appears to be the ultimate “ethnic cleansing” phase of a protracted campaign to take their land, their dignity, and their lives.

“We are tired of watching helplessly as innocent men, women and children are murdered with impunity in Gaza and the West Bank, in cold blood on a daily basis, while the Canadian government, in lockstep with other Western governments, actively abets the war crimes that are being committed. Canada is aiding Israel through investments, including our pension plan holdings, through arms that Canadian manufacturers (like Lockheed Martin, Heroux Devtek, General Dynamics) sell to Israel–using permits granted to them by the Canadian Government. Arms are being sold directly to Israel or, as in the case of parts for F-35 fighter jets, indirectly through the United States. Also, of course, this genocide is being facilitated through international journalism with an sycophantic pro-Israel bias.

“I will be participating as a member of the Canadian delegation, one of about 30 such individuals so far. All participants in MTG will be providing short video statements about their reasons for participating. Here is mine:
