The Upper Midwest Isi nke World BEYOND War hosted an online webinar in solidarity with the Global Day of Action on January 25, 2021 to say No to War on Yemen! We heard from Tarek Alkadri, who was born and raised in Yemen and came to the U.S. in 1990. He is the founder and Board Chair of PureHands.org, a nonprofit organization providing material aid to the people of Yemen. Tarek described what’s happening in Yemen and what we can do to stop the war and suffering. Then, we divided up into discussion groups to meet others in the Midwest area, discuss our interests, and brainstorm how we can take action as a chapter to advance peace locally, nationally, and internationally.
