Free Julian Assange!
We demand the immediate release of Julian Assange! Please help us tell the truth about this courageous man and join us at the U.K. Embassy.
Since November 2010, Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, has lived in refuge in a tiny enclave at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. Wikileaks has been the target of US authorities for exposing American corruption and serious war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Earlier in 2010 Wikileaks had published Collateral Murder – Wikileaks – Iraq, the infamous video showing US Apache helicopters murdering innocent civilians in Iraq.
For Assange, the possibility still looms of an American secret grand-jury indictment, related to the truth that he has helped uncover.
Assange has not left the Embassy since 2012. His indefinite detention by the UK authorities must end! In addition to the outrageous American actions against Assange, Sweden initiated a bogus charge of sexual assault regarding Assange’s visit to Sweden, securing a European Arrest Warrant in 2010. In May 2017, Sweden dropped the arrest warrant and ended the investigation against Assange without charge.
Last year, the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, after hearing evidence from all parties to the dispute, found that Assange “had been detained unlawfully by Britain and Sweden.” The Working Group called on Swedish and British authorities to end Mr. Assange’s “deprivation of liberty, respect his physical integrity and freedom of movement, and afford him the right to compensation.” This ruling is binding under international law, yet British police threaten to arrest Assange should he leave the embassy.
Please help us tell the truth about Julian Assange.
