Weekly Vigil for Yemen, then Meeting at Maryhouse

9 Dec 2017 - 12:00

New York, NY

Many thanks to all who have responded to the call-to-action for December 11th at the United Nations, and especially to all who have continued the weekly Vigil for Yemen on Saturdays, now at Astor Place while Union Square is filled with holiday booths.   The schedule for the next two weeks is as follows:

Saturday, December 9th

After the vigil there will be a planning meeting at Maryhouse, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm , to finalize preparations for December 11th, and to finish making signs and banners.   If you haven’t been arrested before, and you want to join those in front of the missions, you should definitely attend this meeting.            (Maryhouse is at 55 East 3rd Street between 1st & 2nd Avenue , Manhattan, NYC .)

Monday, December 11th

Gather at Ralph Bunche Park , 10:30 am ; Process up to US and Saudi Missions on 45th Street , 12 Noon .
If you cannot come to this action, there will be two simultaneous demonstrations organized by Code Pink that day, one in Washington , DC , and the other in Los Angeles .  (See Facebook pages below.)

Saturday, December 16th

After the vigil there will be a followup meeting at Maryhouse, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm , to discuss the legislative outreach meetings that are taking place, and to evaluate the demonstration, and where we need to focus in 2018.  If you’re having trouble sorting through the various resolutions that have been introduced, this would be a good meeting to attend.
