Costa Rica Now Has a Chapter for Peace

On January 24 a new chapter of World BEYOND War was formally launched in Costa Rica, beginning a sustained effort to work to build a world of peace with social justice.

This meeting, attended by the chapter members, was convened in the afternoon at the headquarters of the Friends for Peace Center, an organization affiliated with World BEYOND War.

During the meeting, particpants discussed the current challenges facing the world, and the challenges of achieving peace with social justice in Costa Rica.

They also took the opportunity to make a record of the establishment of the chapter, and the commitment to abolish war and militarism, and to build a culture of peace.

Before closing the meeting, it was decided to appoint the coordinator of the chapter who will be Luis Vargas, professor of theology and retired teacher, who will have the responsibility along with the entire team to pave the way to advance a peace through the defense of human and social rights of the Costa Rican population.
