Yesterday, on August 13, we took unified action across Canada to put Elbit, and Elbit suppliers across the country, ON NOTICE.
Israel’s countless war crimes in Gaza and across the region are enabled by Elbit Systems – and Elbit, in turn, is enabled by a vast network of suppliers and manufacturers, including dozens across Canada. Yesterday, people across the country took a stand to say NO MORE to this complicity in our backyards. Elbit must get OUT of Canada.
Communities from coast-to-coast mobilized in-person at the facilities of their local companies that supply or partner with Elbit.
From a 12-hour vigil outside Raytheon ELCON in Simcoe County, to an informational picket as workers arrived at Amphenol- Borisch Technologies in London, to community protests and postering actions from Victoria to St John’s – we have put these suppliers ON NOTICE.
The actions were covered by Dropsite, the Peterborough Examiner, Midland Today, the Intelligencer, and the Jerusalem Post, with additional coverage expected to be released tomorrow.
At the same time we launched a brand new email tool that flooded the inboxes of the CEOs of Elbit suppliers and partners across Canada. Unlike our politicians, who are used to receiving messages from the public, these company execs will have been shocked to receive upwards of 1800 emails each. For many, this will be the first time they hear that the public is aware of their ties to Elbit, and is calling on them to cease all business with the company. So let’s be unignorable. Send your email now, and share the tool widely.
We are putting these companies on notice – letting them know that we will crank up the pressure until they stop supplying Israel’s war machine. They need to drop all ties with Elbit Systems or face the reputational and financial consequences of ongoing complicity in Israel’s genocide.
And it’s already working. Last week we saw a supplier commit to ending their shipments to Elbit as a result of this campaign.
Let’s ramp up the pressure and force more companies from coast to coast to do the same.
