During remarks on the Senate floor Thursday, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) called on the Biden Administration to stop sending weapons to the United Arab Emirates amid reports that their weapons are being transferred to Rapid Support Forces in the Sudanese Civil War.

Haven’t seen the Van Hollen recording because it’s taking too long to load, but have affectionate memories of Sudan from when I did VSO there many years ago and these people don’t deserve war – I remember seeing a family looking after a wafer-thin old lady in a mud hut and thinking, “I’m not that nice to my grandma.” And they had nothing. These are real people, struggling to survive as it is and they don’t need bombs.
Thank you to Senator van Hollen for speaking out about the atrocity the US is actively abetting. Shame on President Biden and every US official who is involved in supporting the slaughter in Sudan.

Six out of seven biggest weapons manufacturers are US companies. NATO requires member states to buy from these companies. Americans need to transition from warfare to eco care. It CAN be done with unions and communities organizing together.

Yes we should NOT be supplying weapons that fuel this war
