Ich möchte zugeben: “Donald Trump is no John Kennedy.”

Um Winston Churchill zu zitieren, “It is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war.”

Jetzt wird gesungen: (Now we sing.) You can Google and hear the music. It’s worth it.

    1. Thoughts are free, who can guess them?
They fly by like nocturnal shadows.
No one can know them, no hunter can shoot them
with powder and lead: Thoughts are free!+++++++++++++++++++++++++

    2. Ich denke was ich will und was mich beglücket,

    2. I think what I want to, and what delights me,
still always reticent, and as it is suitable.
My wish and desire, no one can deny me
and so it will always be: Thoughts are free!

++++++++++++++++++++++

    3. And if I am thrown into the darkest dungeon,
    all such actions are futile,
because my thoughts tear all gates
and walls apart: Thoughts are free!

Ladies and gentlemen,

In view of the surprising election victory of Donald Trump, today’s vote in the Bundestag is of great importance.

There are very passionate warmongers in the U.S. Thank goodness, President Obama is not one of them. In my opinion, Donald Trump, like Obama, wants to end the armed chaos in Syria.

I believe it is quite possible that both – Obama as well as Trump – would prefer for the German government to avoid taking any steps to encourage the “hawks” in Washington. An extension of the Syrian war into a NATO war would be such a step.

In my opinion, a peaceful solution to the disaster in Syria is not possible without cooperation with the Russians. This cooperation will be more likely with Donald Trump as US-President than with Hillary Clinton.

Let’s take the time for reflection,

I myself voted for Dr. Jill Stein. She was the presidential candidate of the US Green Party, a small electoral party committed to protecting peace and the environment.

Yesterday, I was part of a group that we would consider to be part of the “one percent” (the elite). In this group was a former US ambassador to NATO.

When asked whether it would not be better to talk with the Russians or negotiate with them, the former ambassador answered this question in a very arrogant way: “You are obviously a Trump supporter. But Hillary Clinton will win for sure.” He said that in this case it would be nonsense and unrealistic to expect early negotiations with the Russians.

I admit, “Donald Trump is no John Kennedy.” Trump is not a Kennedy.

But to cut a long speech short: At least, according to my assessment perhaps with Trump in the next year a more sensible Ostpolitik will be possible. Maybe a deescalation is possible instead of more and more tension.

In my opinion, we must regard the Russians as partners and NOT as enemies.

And to quote Winston Churchill, “It’s better to jaw-jaw than to war-war.” It’s better to talk to each other than to wage war.

And most importantly, we should take very seriously the opportunity of a real policy of détente. We must now take a pause. The German parliament, the Bundestag, should also rethink things. Let us think of something new, away from images of enemies and military solutions, because, as we all know, thoughts are free.

  1. Wait….

White House docs and Hillary’s emails PROVE that she and Obama created ISIS, and fund, arm, and train (with the treasonous US military ‘aiding and abetting the enemy’).

So where did this NONSENSE come from about “Obama wanting to stop the war in Syria”?

THAT is why Obama is pissed at Russia; They’re bombing Obama’s little terrorists, and the only ‘peace’ in Syria Obama and Hillary want is Assad removed, a puppet (like Obama’s coup in the Ukraine), and a Rothschild ‘Central Bank’ installed – to bleed the country dry.

    Hence, their funding of terrorism.

    A VERY misdirected speech, Ray.

    1. You are completely right. However, war against Syria and war against Russia are two different things. May be there were forces for a war against Russia and possibly Obama did not confirm. But considering the widely censorship of the refusal of big parts of the US army “to fight for Al Qaida” in Syria, shows, that possibly, it is finally not not his decision. 🙂
I would like to know more about the US Army refusal for a war for (not against) Al Qaida, but unfortunately information is hard to get.
